\nI'm a life-long Jordan fan, so you're excused. But Magic Johnson, Michael Johnson, Marion Jones, and Michael Jackson (for his dance moves!) are all pretty athletically deserving of the initials.

Marion doesn't deserve the time of day, Johnson is whatever and Jackson is the king of pop.","date_added":"Sep 30th 2013, 3:57am","nest":0,"liked":false,"member":{"wally_id":"35","email_settings":"7168","email":"chrisnickinson@gmail.com","address":"chrisnickinson","gender":"m","member_id":"3026","member_name":"Chris Nickinson","avatar_location":"av-3026.jpg","avatar_type":"upload","avatar":"\/\/www.runnerspace.com\/forum\/uploads\/av-3026.jpg"},"can_delete":false,"item_id":180323,"item_type":"news","pb_image":"\/\/www.runnerspace.com\/forum\/uploads\/av-3026.jpg","pb_title":"Chris Nickinson","pb_url":"profile.php?member_id=3026","pb_url_dns":"https:\/\/chrisnickinson.runnerspace.com\/","pb_wally_id":"35"},"871433":{"pb_id":"9184","pb_type":"members","likes":"0","parent_id":"0","pid":"871433","comment_id":"871433","member_id":"9184","comment":"I'm a life-long Jordan fan, so you're excused. \nYou do realize we were talking about Michael Johnson, not Michael Jordan? The latter would have been an obvious pick if not limiting it to T&F.

\nIf I remember right, MJ's athlete<\/strong> contract peaked at $1M a year.

\nAs far as what track athletes make for their endorsements...we'll never know because for some reason agents, athletes and brands don't want to talk about it. I've heard that Allyson Felix (and I'd suspect Richards-Ross too) isn't far off but that might be in total dollars and not one single endorsement.

\nI would venture to say no way. Who could even come close? I am sure Michael Johnson didn't make anywhere near that with Nike after he retired, same goes for Carl Lewis. Although what do you think Bruce Jenner makes as a "brand ambassador" on E! :)

\n
\nJordan's original deal with Nike was $500k\/year plus royalties. Forbes now says he's earning $60 million annually from his Nike deal.
